Rise : Toronto 2020
Updated: Mar 8, 2020
I'm attending the Rise Conference this coming week in Toronto. I am so excited for this experience and I will be sharing as much as I can with you via my Instagram. I will also write a follow up blog post so be sure to watch for that! I wanted to give you all some basic information on what exactly Rise is and also my top three reasons why I wanted to attend.
Rise is a personal development conference specifically for women. It was created by motivational speaker and author Rachel Hollis. She created this event to empower women to chase after their dreams and heal from their past. I have read up on what to expect at this conference and it really sounds like it will be a life changing event. I have three main reasons that I wanted to attend.
I would really like to narrow down what my personal goals are. Something that I have been struggling with for as long as I can remember is what are my real lifelong goals? If you are a close friend you know that I always have a "new plan". Just to give to give you a recent example, I bought a condo in downtown Toronto, moved there and decided that after 9 months, city life just wasn't for me. I sold that condo and moved back to the country all within a years time. This is all very normal behaviour for me, I get an idea in my head and I jump in feet first! Currently I am having a hard time narrowing down what my next big goal is. I have a vague idea of what I want out of life and I know I'd love to write more but I'm still not 100% sure what I want. I know, just writing that sounds so confusing. My hope is that after these 3 days of intense reflection, I will have a better understanding of myself and what I truly want out of my life. What does the next year look like for me? What about the next decade?
I am really hoping to meet like minded friends and mentors. Women who are also seeking more for their life; who are chasing down their dreams and goals. I'm an extrovert and I love to socialize and meet new people. I really feed off others energy and I just know I'm going to meet some amazing and inspiring women! I really hope to connect and form life long friendships at this conference.
I know I've eluded to the fact that I'm on a mission of self discovery. I love reading self help books, listening to positive podcasts and just generally digging deeper into who I am and who I want to become. As the years pass I know more and more about who I am and the things about my personality that I need to work on. I want to continue to grow into the best version of myself and my hope is that after these 3 days I will be closer to that version of who I am meant to be.
As I said, I will have a follow up blog post all about the experience!
